Kris Bajada will once again be contesting the KSU elections as an independent candidate.
This is the second year that Bajada will be contesting the KSU elections after he went up against Carla Galea (SDM) and Jean Claude Scicluna (Pulse) for the role of President last year. In that election, he managed to garner 440 votes to his name.
Bajada announced his decision on his personal Facebook profile, and said that he would be launching his campaign on Wednesday 27 March at 12:30 at the Arvid Pardo Study Area.
Explaining his decision to contest, Bajada said that he is doing so as “I feel that I have a duty and responsibility towards the students who supported me last year, to continue the fight we started; that is the fight for an independent KSU. Together we can be the change we wish to see.”
It is the third year in a row that an independent candidate has thrown his name into the mix , with Nicholas Martinelli being the first to do so two years ago, and Kris Bajada himself following in those footsteps last year.
SDM have already announced that they will be fielding a team of candidates for the upcoming elections, however there is no announcement of any kind from Pulse just yet on their intentions.
