Following their first AGM last July, Wolves Rugby Football Club Malta have announced their new executive team for the upcoming season.
The team is a mixture of old and new faces, with two of the original founding members – Mike Borg and Albert Galea – both retaining roles within the new executive board. They are joined by new faces to the executive, making up a six-strong board which is a mixture of experience and new blood.
The new roles are as follows:
President – Mike Borg
Secretary General – Marcus Ciantar
Financial Officer – Francesco Pace Parascandalo
Public Relations Officer – Mark Muscat
Events Officer – Nicole Cannataci
Team Manager – Albert Galea
The squad, which was established in October 2017, has already begun training for the new season and has held its first event of the year in the form of a social barbeque and form of initiation for its players.
The Wolves, who are currently in the process of seeking senate recognition from the University of Malta to officially represent the university, will be present and recruiting all those who wish to try out the sport of rugby, with the organisation offering three free training sessions to all new members.
This article is a premise for an interview with the President of Wolves RFC Mike Borg that The Yuppie will be carrying in the coming days to delve deeper into what the inspiration behind founding a rugby team for university was, the organisation’s future plans and much more. Stay tuned!
