ICTSA’s Million Dollar Idea is BACK!

Calling all young and aspiring entrepreneurs! Think you’ve got an idea that can make it big? Never had the chance to work on it though? Well fear not! ICTSA’s The Million Dollar Idea is back!

It’s a weekend long-trial, taking place from 31st March up until 2nd April. It prompts business-minded people, from any academic background, to form a team of up to five people and bring their ideas to reality.

Watch your company’s blue-prints come to life. The jam-packed weekend features prominent speakers such as Ing. Edward Portelli as well as Professor Russell Smith. KONNEKT will expose contestants to business models, timelines and budgets. The former speaker will speak about “Idea Generation and Validation”. More so, “Perfecting Your Pitch” by the latter will conclude the event.

Contestants will be able to pitch and develop ideas in work spaces provided at the venue — Microsoft Innovation Centre, Skyparks, Luqa. The possibility to sleep overnight is also available for those truly industrious teams. Nevertheless, participants can work from home. However, any developments have to be presented at the venue itself. Expert mentors will be available all weekend to advise and help the teams get on the right track. A brilliant panel of judges have also been chosen to preside over this year’s, namely, Professor Russel Smith, Dr Nathaniel P Massa, Dr. Adrian Francalanza, Mr Carmel Cachia as well as Mr Marcel Cutajar.

The winning team is to receive a Start-Up Package which would essentially help them develop their idea. The package will provide winners with an eSkills Malta Foundation Cash Prize of €500, a three month free TAKEOFF Business Incubator Membership as well as one-to-one mentorship from James Cassar, Director at Event Planner Co. Ltd.

Runner-ups also get a prize; a hefty cash prize of €300, partially funded by KONNEKT themselves. As if the possibility of winning one of these prizes was not good enough, entering the event is COMPLETELY FREE!

So put together a team, grab your idea, and apply for the event HERE! Who knows, maybe you will have The Million Dollar Idea.

And as a law student, I need the caffeine. My know-how lies within International political dynamics, especially those within the European Union.
